Security Training
Hundreds of activists and journalists investigating criminal activity are killed every year. Many more face kidnapping, death threats, physical and verbal attacks, digital intrusions, and harassment.
World of Crime has delivered holistic security training courses to journalists and activists in over a dozen countries in Europe and the Americas.
Our holistic security courses include three components:
1. Digital Security (risk analysis and mapping, cyberattacks and data care, secure storage and safe networks, protection from online hate speech, technology recommendations, internal protocols)
2. Physical Security (fieldwork planning, security in the workspace, emergency response and evacuation from natural disasters to criminal violence, training on gender and sex-based discrimination and harassment)
3. Psychosocial security (identifying signs of trauma and burnout, dealing with vicarious trauma, identifying external factors, psychosocial first aid, emphasis on kindness and tolerance in the workplace).
